About me: Tyler Binkley

My name is Tyler Binkley and I am a Senior Meteorology Major and GIS Minor at Western Kentucky University.  I was born and raised in Cheatham County and the idea of Cheatham County Weather was started back in December 2012.  My interest in Meteorology started back in Kindergarden.  I played baseball during the Summer of 1998 for East Cheatham Elementary School, and one day we were practicing (keep in mind this was before the time everyone had a cell phone) when a storm came up.  We did not know at the time until a man came by on a motorcycle and said, "Hey, get those kids off the field.  There is a Tornado Warning out for this area."  We were heading to the car to leave (not the smartest idea) and someone pointed to the sky and shouted, "Look up there!"  When everyone looked up, it was a funnel cloud.  Ever since that moment, I have had an interest in weather.  I am blessed to have amazing parents whose names are James and Maria Binkley and my amazing sister Macey.  My family has been the behind the scenes support in everything that I have done and I do not know what I would do without them.  Most importantly, I cannot forget to thank my Heavenly Father up in Heaven who has been the solid rock throughout my life and has given me the strength to continue my Meteorology career, and help me achieve my dream.  I hope that this blog is informative and answers any questions about what the weather is doing in Cheatham.  If you have questions about weather or pursuing a Meteorology Career, feel free to contact me on my home email here or my school email here.
